The Cibola room sits in the South East Corner of the structure. It has it's own private entrance from the courtyard. Large East and South facing windows have a view of the Sandia Mountains and let in abundant sunshine.
There is an authentic kiva fireplace in the corner that keeps the room toasty warm during the winter months.
There is a small built in bookcase that holds magazines and books. This room has cable TV hook-up for those that want to bring their own television.
Each night of your stay includes healthy and delicious vegan or vegetarian breakfasts in the morning. We will accomodate Gluten free options and special dietary needs with advanced notice.
For shared lodging, we do not supply shampoo or body wash. If you are renting the room as a private suite, we provide you with raw organic Desert Sage body wash and Sprouted Mineral Greens shampoo and conditioner from the Body Deli.
The Cibola room gets it’s name from the 16th century rumors of the fabled “Seven cities of Gold”. It was this legend that set Spanish Conquistador Franciso Vazquez de Coronado on his expedition to the new world to claim these riches from 1540-1542. The town of Bernalillo adapted the nickname “City of Coronado” as it was believed that this is the place where Coronado and his soldiers camped during their mission. The path they traveled, referred to as the Royal Road, passed right through the grounds of La Hacienda de la Luna.
The turquoise colored Cibola room is adorned with gold crosses and colorful serapes to commemorate many elements of this historical location. The 300 year old La Hacienda de la Luna has it’s share of benevolent paranormal activity. The Cibola room and the courtyard are the two places where most of this activity is reported; though it is not uncommon to experience a presence from the past anywhere on this property. If you look closely at the photos on this page, you may be able to see a shadowy figure and some orbs.
Don’t let the stories of ghosts scare you. The Cibola room is charming and peacefully comfortable. It is set up for Community Hostel style lodging. There are 2 to 4 twin size cots with memory foam mattresses and comfortable bedding. There are several rental options available for this room.

This room can be rented privately for parties of one or two.
Option 3:
The Cibola Room and the Coyote Room are connected by a common door for guests wanting adjoining rooms.
